COVID-19 Update 10/18/2021

Across the country, the COVID-19 pandemic is continuing to have devastating effects. We appreciate how much you have already done to adapt during this challenging time. As you know, we have been taking preventive measures at Performance Corporation against COVID-19 for the past year+ to help keep you, our entire staff, your families, and our customers safe. We have worked under some uncertain and often stressful conditions, and you have helped make it possible for us to continue our essential operations.

It is critical that all employees know and understand their expectations and responsibilities when it comes to COVID-19 for the purpose of keeping our work environment safe for all. Below is the updated policy and procedure for Performance Corp regarding the COVID-19 pandemic. As in the past, guidelines set forth by the CDC and local mandates continue to be our main source of guidance.

Below is a review of symptoms. If you have one of the symptoms on Column A or two symptoms in Column B, you should stay home until you are symptom free for 24 hours and contact the Employee Relations Line. Please text or leave a voicemail and someone from HR will be in contact with you.

If you have symptoms consistent with COVID-19, you should get tested. While waiting for test
results, you should stay away from others, including staying apart from those living in your

If you test positive for COVID-19, you should continue to isolate until:

  • 10 days since symptoms first appeared AND
  • 24 hours with no fever without the use of fever-reducing medication AND
  • Other symptoms of COVID -19 are improving
  • *Loss of taste and smell may persist for weeks or months after recovery and need not delay the end of isolation

Employees with a negative test result will be permitted to return to work. Documentation of a Covid test or a note from a medical professional will excuse your absences while sick.

We will continue to use the layering of mitigation strategies which includes social distancing, healthy hygiene habits, routine cleaning and ventilation practices, optional masking and contact tracing with quarantining as needed. If we do need to implement masking due to increased numbers of positive cases, further communication will be given. Furthermore, in accordance with Performance Corp’s duty to provide and maintain a workplace that is free of known hazards, we strongly urge employees to receive the COVID-19 vaccination to minimize the risk of infectious disease in our workplace. For further information on the COVID-19 vaccination, including locations on where to receive the vaccination, you are encouraged to:

  • Check your local pharmacy’s website to see if vaccination appointments are available. Find out which pharmacies are participating in the Federal Retail Pharmacy Program.
  • Contact your state health department to find additional vaccination locations in the area.
  • Check your local news outlets. They may have information on how to get a vaccination appointment
