As we continue to grow, we are seeking a highly experienced, organized, and motivated Director of Sales & Customer Service to lead our sales efforts and drive new business development.
Job Summary: The Director of Sales & Customer Service will be responsible for overseeing and managing all sales operations within the company. This includes developing and implementing sales strategies, managing internal processes, and building a high-performing sales team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sales, excellent leadership skills, and a deep understanding of the wood pallet or manufacturing industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Sales Strategy & Execution:
- Develop and implement comprehensive sales strategies to achieve company revenue targets.
- Identify new market opportunities and establish strong relationships with potential clients.
- Monitor industry trends and competitor activities to stay ahead of the market.
- Assist in the development of sales materials, presentations, and promotional activities.
- Team Management:
- Train and mentor, a high-performing sales team.
- Set clear performance expectations, provide regular feedback, and conduct performance evaluations.
- Foster a collaborative and motivating team environment.
- Process & Procedure Management:
- Streamline and optimize internal sales processes and procedures to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
- Ensure the sales team adheres to company policies, standards, and best practices.
- Implement and manage CRM tools to track sales activities, customer interactions, and performance metrics.
- Finance Collaboration
- Analyze cost structures and market trends with the Finance team to ensure competitive yet profitable pricing.
- Collaborate with the Finance team to develop pricing strategies that align with company goals, market conditions, and customer expectations.
- company Collaborate with Finance to structure customer contracts that align with financial objectives, including payment terms, discounts, and pricing tiers.
- Collaborate with Executive Management for large or strategic contracts that may impact overall performance.
- Collaborate with Executive Management and Finance on decisions related to investments in new markets, products, or technologies that will impact sales.
- Customer Relationship Management:
- Maintain strong, long-lasting customer relationships by understanding their needs and providing tailored solutions.
- Collaborate with Operations to ensure customer quality and service expectations are met.
- Work with the Operations team to identify and resolve any issues that may arise during production or delivery, such as supply chain disruptions or equipment malfunctions.
- Ensure that any problems affecting customer orders are addressed swiftly to maintain customer satisfaction.
- Understand and clarify customer product details, specifications, and custom requirements.
- Communicate customer demand forecasts and changes to the Operations team to adjust inventory levels & production schedules accordingly.
- Business Development:
- Proactively seek new business opportunities and partnerships to expand the company’s customer base.
- Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and networking opportunities.
- Develop and present proposals, negotiate contracts, and close deals with new clients
- Reporting & Analysis:
- Analyze sales data to identify trends and make data-driven decisions.
- Manage & review sales targets and KPIs for both existing and new accounts.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field
- Proven experience as a Sales Manager or in a similar senior sales role, preferably within the wood packaging or manufacturing industry.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and manage a sales team.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Experience with CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and make strategic decisions.
- A results-driven attitude with a proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
