As we continue to grow, we are seeking a highly experienced, organized, and motivated Director of Sales & Customer Service to lead our sales efforts and drive new business development.

Job Summary: The Director of Sales & Customer Service will be responsible for overseeing and managing all sales operations within the company. This includes developing and implementing sales strategies, managing internal processes, and building a high-performing sales team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sales, excellent leadership skills, and a deep understanding of the wood pallet or manufacturing industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sales Strategy & Execution:
    • Develop and implement comprehensive sales strategies to achieve company revenue targets.
    • Identify new market opportunities and establish strong relationships with potential clients.
    • Monitor industry trends and competitor activities to stay ahead of the market.
    • Assist in the development of sales materials, presentations, and promotional activities.
  • Team Management:
    • Train and mentor, a high-performing sales team.
    • Set clear performance expectations, provide regular feedback, and conduct performance evaluations.
    • Foster a collaborative and motivating team environment.
  • Process & Procedure Management:
    • Streamline and optimize internal sales processes and procedures to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
    • Ensure the sales team adheres to company policies, standards, and best practices.
    • Implement and manage CRM tools to track sales activities, customer interactions, and performance metrics.
  • Finance Collaboration
    • Analyze cost structures and market trends with the Finance team to ensure competitive yet profitable pricing.
    • Collaborate with the Finance team to develop pricing strategies that align with company goals, market conditions, and customer expectations.
    • company Collaborate with Finance to structure customer contracts that align with financial objectives, including payment terms, discounts, and pricing tiers.
    • Collaborate with Executive Management for large or strategic contracts that may impact overall performance.
    • Collaborate with Executive Management and Finance on decisions related to investments in new markets, products, or technologies that will impact sales.
  • Customer Relationship Management:
    • Maintain strong, long-lasting customer relationships by understanding their needs and providing tailored solutions.
    • Collaborate with Operations to ensure customer quality and service expectations are met.
    • Work with the Operations team to identify and resolve any issues that may arise during production or delivery, such as supply chain disruptions or equipment malfunctions.
    • Ensure that any problems affecting customer orders are addressed swiftly to maintain customer satisfaction.
    • Understand and clarify customer product details, specifications, and custom requirements.
    • Communicate customer demand forecasts and changes to the Operations team to adjust inventory levels & production schedules accordingly.
  • Business Development:
    • Proactively seek new business opportunities and partnerships to expand the company’s customer base.
    • Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and networking opportunities.
    • Develop and present proposals, negotiate contracts, and close deals with new clients
  • Reporting & Analysis:
    • Analyze sales data to identify trends and make data-driven decisions.
    • Manage & review sales targets and KPIs for both existing and new accounts.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field
  • Proven experience as a Sales Manager or in a similar senior sales role, preferably within the wood packaging or manufacturing industry.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and manage a sales team.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience with CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and make strategic decisions.
  • A results-driven attitude with a proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
